hey guys ive spoke to james from DW today about some kinda discount what he suggested was that its much better if we have items which we can organisize group buys then contact then to get somekinda discount on them instead of a 10% discount
I think thats a a much better way aswell... so if there are anythings which there a few of us wanna get together shout it out ok

I honestly wouldn't pay more than ?150 for a manifold. You'll just be pissed if it cracks...

Does the Mani offer........ What does it offer? Apart from the cosmetic aspect

Depends on the power. Better flow ultimately. The cheaper ones can suffer from reduced low-end torque though. I believe the Tomei mani is supposed to be better for this, however, you have to balance the cost (?240 plus shipping) with the risk of cracking...

yeah
was looking at the pic for the tomei mani.. it seems they dont have a equal lenght on there mani... isnt it ment to be better to have equal lenghts??
ive heard good things about the tomei mani..

Honestly, I wouldn't bother if you intend to keep power under 330bhp.

The only one consistent thing about all SS manifolds is that they can crack - regardless of price, quality or performance. Mine hasn't in over a year, but I won't be surprised if it does...

i must admit that i had a stainless mani before but the run of the mill ones you see about it lasted about 1-2 months still waiting on the contact aout the tomie item, i have however spoken to a uk tuner who said that the standard mani is fine but need to be opened up a little, to the same size as the gasket and head, he reakons do this and all will be good

I must say it makes sense, but ill take a look when i strip it out in the next week or so

mild steel is the way to go if you dont want it to crack. If your going for a stainless unit then id suggest a flexi piece somewhere in the exhaust system, this will relieve alot of the stress on the mani

I believe the design is based on what people had said to Bren that they wanted in a mani...

Absolutely.

And for ?105 in a group buy, it's gonna be hard to resist.

Just remember its a turbo off job. :)

sushiming

Dazz0i

turbo off... so braided lines and gasket kit prices to be added! :)

Nicely
17-01-2007, 04:58
Like I said before, until you are running over 320-330bhp, its not worth it, as the standard mani is up to the job. There are gains and losses with fitting one.

Kango
17-01-2007, 11:58
but, does the turbo spin up quicker due to less of a restriction?

Nicely
17-01-2007, 12:02
By itself, slower. With all of the other mods which go with 320+, faster. That's on the original Apex style mani design.
